Did you know that plants are psychic? Studies show that our houseplants perceive our stress, even when we’re thousands of miles away! Flowers and plants in general have tremendous intelligence and we are much more connected to them than we are aware of. They make us feel happier, less stressed, more in tune + more fulfilled.
In this book, Katie, and her co-creator, award-winning filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg, open us up to a fresh new world of magic and possibility. By choosing the flowers you’re most attracted to from 48 different profiles, you discover what your favorite flowers reveal about you – with insights, reflective questions & actions to magnify your true self.
The flowers’ healing essence are captured in flower elixirs, which is essentially liquid chi – containing the energetic life force of the flowers; they travel through the acupuncture meridians, bringing us into balance (like an acupuncture treatment without the needles).
Flowerevolution teaches about the transformative power of flower elixirs: how they remove the everyday static of life created by electronics, lack of nature time, stress, and other energy-draining influences that we can’t see. We discover how they inspire joy, help us sleep better, enhance confidence, uncover hidden talents + accelerate personal growth.
Having experienced the transformative effects of Lotus Wei flower remedies over the past year, you can imagine my excitement when they reached out, asking if I was interested in experiencing one of the 48 flower profiles in Katie’s book. Yes, please!!
I had no idea what to expect, but as with every flower elixir I had previously taken, I jumped in with an open mind and heart, to the unlimited and unexpected possibilities awaiting.
A little back story before I get into the details: In June 2015, I embarked on my journey of self-healing through Reiki. Shortly following this, I discovered Lotus Wei flower remedies, which I have been taking religiously, and has supported me immensely.
When Lotus Wei reached out to me, I had just begun my Reiki Master-Teacher Training 2 days prior. I did not know it at that time, but seeing how things have so magically and serendipitously unfolded, is undoubtedly a testimony of divine timing and support.
I was shown 48 different photos of flowers, and to pick 3 of my favourites, out of which, I received the Night Blooming Cereus Flower Elixir.
Right up to the week before the start of the Reiki Master Training programme, I was conflicted as to whether or not to join. Am I ready? Am I worthy? Do I have what it takes? Me? Teach Reiki? But I have a fear of public speaking! Whaaat? I must be mad! – are some of many doubts I struggled with. But the more I drove myself crazy with my insecurities and fears, the stronger I felt the pull that this was something I needed to pursue. So, I listened to my intuition, pushed my fears aside, and signed up.
Message: Take the leap!
The exquisite Night-Blooming Cereus blooms only one night each year, usually on a full or new moon in the springtime, and by midmorning has already begun to wilt. At about 9 or 10p.m., it starts unfolding its creamy white petals and its intoxicating fragrance. Inside the shimmery, feather-like petals are green and yellow pollen-filled stamens that are pollinated by sphinx moths. If you’re attracted to the Night Blooming Cereus, on some level you’re yearning to make a huge leap in your personal growth. There may be fears or self-limiting patterns that will need to be worked through, however, as you make that leap. The Night-Blooming Cereus flower elixir encourages you to take a big leap toward your full potential or elevate what you’re working on in a big way. It purges any subconscious fears or limitations that might have previously held you back. Embrace the right timing and go after what you want!
How wild is it that out of all the flowers, this was my chosen elixir! And, how perfect was the timing, that this opportunity came into my life when I most needed it. Even now, I catch myself trying to process the miraculousness, wonder and magnitude of it all. Katie often speaks about how our body intuitively selects the flower essence that we most need at that moment in time. She even developed a flower quiz on the Lotus Wei website for you to try – I have tried it, experienced it, and believe in it. It really works!
I’m not saying that my fears magically vanished overnight, that I have overcome my fear of public speaking, or that I’m rid of all my self-doubts. No, they still exist. What has changed however, is how I approach them. My attitude and mindset has shifted. Like what the Night Blooming Cereus elixir promotes, it helped to unblock the limiting beliefs surrounding my fears and insecurities. Instead of telling myself, I can’t and shutting down, I am now open to saying, I’ll give it a chance, I’ll give myself a chance, and I’ll try.
This shift in my belief system has not only given me the confidence to believe in myself more, but also realise that I am capable of greatness.
Becoming a Reiki Teacher was something I never thought possible in my wildest dreams. If you told me this is what I would accomplish, I would have thought you were nuts!
I recall towards the end of 2015, asking myself what I wanted in life and what direction I wanted to take going forward in the new year ahead. I gifted myself an early Christmas present – the Holiday Cactus Flower Elixir – to support my journey in discovering my higher purpose. I wanted more out of life, and Holiday Cactus helped support the unfolding process of digging deep into myself and asking the big questions.
I have since received my Reiki Master Certification, and besides offering private one-to-one healing sessions, I now also conduct Reiki workshops with anyone interested in empowering themselves, by learning this gift of self-healing. I also took the big step and registered my business entity (totally legit now!), and just recently offered to host the Reiki Share for Level 2 students within my Reiki community, something I have never done before. Remember my fear of public speaking? Well, I figured now is as good a time as any to embrace this fear and work through it. Growth happens when we learn to face the things that scare us, and sitting through the uncomfortable feelings that arise, and that is exactly what I have chosen to do – own my light and rise to the occasion.
I have learnt the amazing thing about nurturing personal growth is that it also spills over into other areas of my life, in particular, my relationships with close friends and loved ones. They have grown deeper and more meaningful, forgiveness and reconciliation occurs more readily and open-heartedly, and ultimately developing a daily practice of gratitude – which I can tell you now, is the secret to a happy and content life.
So to conclude, this has most definitely been a year of huge transformation and personal growth, and I attribute much of my catalyst and support system to these powerful flower elixirs.
